Dear
,
I'm
emailing on behalf of the Consumers Union Web Watch initiative. We mailed
you an invitation to our April 24 Web Watch Summit several weeks ago,
but haven't heard back and would love to have you attend. The summit
will be limited to about 100 attendees and, as you can see from the
website http://www.consumerwebwatch.org/summit2003, the speakers will
be from a range of consumer and academic organizations, and security
on the web will be one of the main topics.
Speakers
include B.J. Fogg, Director, Web Credibility Project, Stanford University;
Robert Mayer, Professor of Family and Consumer Studies, University of
Utah; and Dr. Jakob Nielsen, Principal, Nielsen Norman Group. Panelists
include industry leaders from Google, MSNBC, Microsoft, the Associated
Press, USA Today, and others, including FTC Commissioner Mozelle Thompson.
This is a real effort to strengthen consumer confidence in the web,
something all of us doing business via the web desire, so I hope you'll
consider going.
The
CU has agreed to extend the early registration discount as an added
incentive. I've attached the invitation reminder, speaker's list, preliminary
agenda and the latest press release. I'm a freelancer who helped develop
the invitee list for the Consumers Union and they've asked for my help
in contacting invitees to ensure they take a look at the invitation.
