Revolutionary Network for Homes and Small Offices to be Hosted in Demonstration Environments

May 1, 2002, San Francisco--AsokaUSA of South San Francisco, will demonstrate how easy it is to network computers using their PlugLink USB and Ethernet bridges by installing them in a home and a small office, beginning July 1.

The revolutionary appliances, which eliminate the expense of running cable throughout a home or office, were among the first appliances of their kind to receive certification from the HomePlug Powerline Alliance in April. The PlugLink appliances send information from computer to computer via regular existing electrical wiring and can be configured by anyone with basic PC knowledge.

AsokaUSA would like your assistance finding one host family and one host office to run the networks for three months, July 1-Sept 27. In return for hosting the networks, AsokaUSA will give hosts a printer or scanner of their choice worth $300, as well as up to four of the PlugLink appliances used in the demo environments. If you know of a family or small office who may be interested in hosting the demo environments, please let me know by May 21.

With the rapid growth of multiple-PC households, powerline networking provides a cost-effective and resourceful method to create a home-based network. By leveraging the 20+ years experience of its high-tech parent company, Asoka, Inc. of Taiwan, Asoka USA acts as the sales arm and is able to work directly with distributors. In turn, Asoka USA can offer U.S.-based customers economical and high-quality home-networking and electronics products.

We will provide feedback from hosts as the demonstration environments mature and users find out just how easy the system is to use and maintain, and we welcome calls on the progress of the demonstration. Interviews with hosts can be arranged and, in addition, AsokaUSA maintains a demonstration network at it’s offices in South San Francisco.

I have included a media kit with full information on the AsokaUSA PlugLink appliances. If you have questions, please call or email me at the above number/address.
