Postini is a leading email system perimeter protection service. In order to plan features and marketing points for upgrading their products they conducted a survey of corporate technology professionals. Freelance News Service developed a universe of targets subdivided by company size and conducted seventy percent of the surveys. The survey consisted of 41 multiple choice and short answer questions. Interviews averaged 58 minutes. The chief difficulty was convincing overworked IT executives to take 45 minutes to take the survey. Multiple low key calls and very flexible scheduling were key to completing the assignment. During the interviews emphasis was on drawing out answers wherever appropriate. The assignment was completed on time to the entire satisfaction of Postini.
